At the beginning of 2024 will mark the launch of technical control for motorcycles. The Minister of Transport confirmed that this measure would be gradually deployed and provided details on this subject.
Following an injunction of the Council of State (under the pressure of associations) due to the inaction of the government, an implementation was scheduled for August 1, but the minister announced thatA meeting with the representatives of the bikers would take place later in the year.
The Minister of Transport, Clément Beaune, recently granted an interview to gross in which he provided additional information on motorcycle technical control and his calendar. Thus, from early 2024, the oldest motorcycles and scooters will be subject to control.
The control period will extend from January 15 to March 15, but only for vehicles registered Before January 1, 2017.
The implementation will be done gradually until January 1, 2027 in order to avoid saturation of the control centers.
Another important question concerned the inclusion of the different types of motorized two-wheelers. Clément Beaune clarified that motorcycles of 125 cm3 and more, as well as mopeds of less than 125 cm3, would be subject to compulsory technical control. All category L vehicles will therefore be concerned.
The pace of inspections will be 5 years after the first registration, then every three years. This pace is more spaced compared to that of cars, which require an inspection after 4 years, then every 2 years.
Technical control itself will be considerably simplified, with about four times less control points than for cars. The details of the checkpoints are specified in the draft decree.

Finally, the minister confirmed the objective of maintaining the cost of control around 50 euros. However, the final decision on this point will return to the control centers.

« La décision finale sur ce point reviendras au centre de contrôle » ouais parce que ça fait tellement d’années qu’ils poussent le gouvernement à l’imposer car c’est un gros bonus que ça peut leurs apporter, ça pas falloir me faire croire qu’ils vont le laisser à 50€..

encore une mesure qui ne sert a rien sauf a prendre de l argent mes deux moto une qui roule année 1989 carte grise collection qui roule peu n as pas besoin d un controle l autre machine que je posséde de 1992 que je remet en état et qui je vais aussi passer en CG de collection si la 1ER ET EN ETAT D’ORIGINE possede des pot adaptable mais non bruyant quand seras t il pour les autre motos et meme ma 1er motos en full puisque non bride……
