There are 4 connectors.
On the 9-pin connector, the correspondence is as follows:
light blue: right turn signal
orange: left indicator
dark blue: full beam/high beam
white and brown: crossing/night light
yellow and black: rev counter
green: negative/ground
black: positive after contact
red: permanent positive
blue and white: fuel gauge.
On the 6-pin connector, the correspondence is as follows:
green and red: neutral
pink: 1
blue/red: 2
green/black: 3
yellow/red: 4
yellow/white: 5
On the 1 terminal connector, the correspondence is as follows:
green/white: 6
On the 3 terminal connector, the correspondence is as follows:
red/white: + speed sensor
green: - speed sensor
black/black: speed sensor signal
The tachometer (black and yellow wire) is to be installed at the negative output of the coil.
Example CB650 from 1979:
If it does not work this way (as on the BMW K100 for example), it must be installed as follows:
The probe must be installed on a support (the stirrup for example) and the magnet(s) installed on the disc. It is preferable to install the magnets as close as possible to the sensor (+/- 2 mm).
To reach the settings menu, you must lock the button for 3 to 5 seconds then switch on the ignition.
There are 5 menus. The speed display tells you what level you are in.
In the first level of adjustment.
the mileage shows “CCC---”.
"---" means the default wheel circumference.
The first "-" flashes. Briefly press the key to add or modify the flashing digit. Long press to change digit.
How to define your circumference? Calculate the perimeter of the wheel.
Calculation of the perimeter of a circle:
P = 2x x Radius (in mm)
Radius = Centerline of the wheel at the end of the tire.
Note: If during the test the meter has an error of 5 to 10%, you must add 5% to this result (P*1.05)
Once calculated, you can fill in the data.
The thousands number will flash at this time, short press to change the current number.
After a few seconds, the device automatically switches to the hundreds setting, then the tens setting.
Its range is 50~2600mm.
Hold the button for 3 seconds to save, then enter setting area 2.
In the second level of adjustment.
The mileage indicates “C---XX”, here “C---01”:
XX means the default. The setting range is 1~12. This is the number of magnets installed on the wheel.
There are 2 magnetic steels in the package, so please change the number to 2.
It might be better to place the two magnetic steels in a different angle of the tire.
Two magnets are normally more accurate than one (faster speed refresh). In some cases the difference is minimal.
Note: it is best to try with 1 or 2 magnets to find out which configuration suits you best.
Hold the button for 3 seconds to save, then enter the cylinder number setting area.
In the third level of adjustment.
the mileage indicates “C----X”, here “C----2”:
2 means the number of engine cylinders is 2.
Single cylinders and double cylinders do not need to be tuned (default=2).
3 corresponds to 3 cylinders
4 corresponds to 4 cylinders
Press the key to set the number of cylinders.
Hold the button for 3 seconds to save, then enter the fuel meter wire number setting area.
In the fourth level of adjustment
the mileage shows "E-----X".
Hold the button for 3 seconds to save, then enter the allowable mileage setting area.
Mode available: 2-3
To be chosen according to the resistance model of your motorcycle.
If you don't have a fuel gauge sensor, grounding the fuel gauge wire (blue and white) will cause the fuel gauge to stop flashing.
For others, you need to ground it through a 30-500 ohm resistor.
Anything more or less common has no effect. 500 ohms displays 1 bar (out of 8) or almost empty. 30 ohm 8 bar display (full screen). (about 330 ohms is half full, etc.) So if grounding the fuel wire doesn't work for you, try grounding it through a resistor between 30 and 500 ohms.
Fuel gauge sensor (example: Royal Enfield):
In the fifth setting level (displayed speed = 5).
Default value= 0.
A short press of the button to clear the mileage. It could be remove 200km in one time, total 3 times in a row. (Enter this area again to remove more.).
Long press the button or turn off the motorcycle to exit the setting model.
