Le Freewind 650 Café Racer de Frédéric

    Motorcycle brand: Suzuki

    Motorcycle model: Freewind

    Motorcycle year: 1997

Tell us your story with this preparation (why this style? Why this model? ...)

Love or nostalgia for beautiful mechanics (each of them of course), simple, purified things and another way of seeing life or seeing motorcycle walks.
This motorcycle was made for a woman (a friend's wife), that's why I lowered and lightened as much as possible. It is handy, light, with a nice noise of a mono that breathes well. It's hard to explain, because for me it's a hobby, I like the Racer coffee and many other motorcycle style, I like to modify (simple things at the base, because if too much electronic I do not touch), I had already made another coffee racer with a ZRX1100 10 years ago and it is always a pleasure to embark on projects (despite some headaches 😂 ), especially when the future owner with his eyes that shines when he saw her.

Here is a before / after with the original model:

What changes have you made to your motorcycle?

    • Change of the fork + front wheel + brake from a BUEL S1
    • Replacement of the rear wheel and shock absorber for a model from a Gsxf (because 3 branches like Drill),
    • Cutting the rear loop and setting up yours with reinforcements
    • Installation of an Akrapowish exhaust ( 😂 ) with a homemade stainless steel line
    • Tank and saddle and shell from Remmotorcycle
    • Installation of half a handlebars
    • Installation of a magnetic digital counter,
    • Laying mirrors and handle to keep the Café Racer look
    • Adaptation of remote controls from another motorcycle with machined plates in aluminum
    • Installation of a plate support Harley and a small side lighting
    • Installation of a Breaking front brake-cylinder for the big front disc Drill
    • Realization by a friend of an engine and frame paint and dressing: Jaguar green color, white cream toyota, varnish with glitter.
    • Carburetor adjustment with larger air and petrol gicler + style air filter K & n Green.

Have you used remmotorcycle parts? If so, that?

CAFE TAKE Several colors available - Remmotorcycle

Black saddle black shell with long integrated led loop - Remmotorcycle

    Here is the final result:

    This rear is superb:

Why did you choose this base?
Because I look for a 600XT for a long time and that they have been overpriced here (See Frédéric lives in Reunion) and that I really like the noise of the monocylinder and that it is Dr's engine which is a reliable engine.
I have a all kind of motorcycle (Buell S1 and XB, ZRX, Pegaso, XT, Harley Fat Bob, R6, GSXR750) and it is my 5 motorcycles that I modified.

A perfect combination between the Racer coffee shell, the LED loop and the 2 exhausts:

    Remmotorcycle's little word:

    A superb achievement of Frédéric.

We see his experience in the preparation, the result is very successful.

The difference with the original motorcycle is striking!

    Thank you for your confidence.
