Presentation of the REMMOTORCYCLE inverted fork

Today, we're talking to you about the development and launch of our inverted fork .

Our first model was designed for Harley-Davidson Sportsters .

Installing an inverted fork on a Sportster is a radical change, it's like riding a new motorcycle.

We have developed, tested and validated a brand new front axle that is much sportier and more durable.

Our test bike is a 2012 Harley Davidson Sportster Forty Eight (X48) .

THE GENESIS OF THE PROJECT:

A Harley and especially a Sportster is a custom. So, a motorcycle to ride cool, on torque and brake with anticipation.

When you like the sound of a V-twin Evo , the torque of this engine and driving a little sporty can pose a bit of a problem with the cycle part.

Like the trend of clubstyles and performance baggers , it is possible to make a Sportster more " sporty " to take full advantage of the driving pleasure.

This is how the idea of ​​developing a front axle was born to extend the fields of application of this mount.

With a new front axle, it is still possible to ride cool but you can also ride your roadster friends through the mountain passes.

What is the result ?

We have tested our kit over thousands of miles and are convinced that it is one of the best modifications you can make to a motorcycle.

The change to an inverted fork with radial braking is truly incredible.

With this installation, you can "polish" without being afraid of hazardous braking and thus take the curves calmly. The motorcycle has a much more precise front end.

In town, this also makes a difference, the bike is agile , more lively and brakes.

Going from a standard fork to an adjustable inverted fork as well as a radial braking system equivalent to high-end racing motorcycles, completely transforms the dynamics of your motorcycle.

We can finally fully enjoy the performance of a Sportster off the straight and at red lights.

Even if you are not looking for sportiness, this kit will give you more safety, a motorcycle that is much less tiring to cruise.

Why choose an inverted fork on your Sportster?

1. Increased Rigidity : Compared to conventional forks, inverted forks generally have greater torsional rigidity. This means they have better stability and cornering response , which is particularly important for racing and sports motorcycles.

6. Adaptability to radial brakes : Inverted forks are often designed to accommodate radial brake calipers, which increases stopping power , modulation and heat dissipation. Additionally, on a Sportster, you go from a simple 2-piston caliper to 2 4-piston radial calipers.
7. Better feedback : The inverted fork and radial braking combination changes the feeling on the handlebars, the front end is no longer blurry.

ADJUSTABLE SHEATHS

Our choice of fork tubes fell on the Japanese brand Kayaba .

KAYABA is a renowned brand in the motorcycle industry that offers very good products.

Manufacturers like Triumph , Ducati or Honda , Yamaha (among others) equip their motorcycles with Kayaba forks.

The chosen model has 43mm tubes. This is the diameter that Harley-Davidson installs on these Low Rider S and Low Rider ST .

In addition, this model is adjustable. There are 12 levels to adjust the hardness.

It is possible to adapt the suspension to its environment.

The fork is tuned for the weight of the Sportster and its passengers.

Kayaba fork legs have caliper support for radial caliper with 100mm center distance on the left and right for 320mm discs.

The length of the fork is identical to an original Sportster in order to keep the construction parameters of the model.

The travel is 120mm instead of the original 105mm.

The sheaths are available in SILVER or GOLD . The fork legs are BLACK .

THE FORK TREE

The triple clamp is a component used to connect the fork tubes to the frame.

The triple clamp is made up of:

• A lower triple clamp
• An upper triple clamp
• Steering column
• A spacer
• A screw for the column

The triple clamps were designed and developed in-house by our REMLAB design office.

The triple clamp is designed specifically for the Sportster .

The upper tee, lower tee and column assembly is entirely made of aluminum, cut from the mass for increased quality and rigidity.

For the finish, we chose black anodizing, a premium quality finish to resist over time.

With attention to detail, as nothing is left to chance, all the fixing screws are made of Black Titanium (fork crown and stirrups).

We have added new steering bearings to the kit to adjust your fork to perfection.

The set is completed with a wheel axle and spacers to go perfectly with the original Harley wheel.

Remmotorcycle offers an optional radial braking kit designed for the inverted fork.

The kit is composed of 2 FJN radial calipers, 2 REMM 320 mm floating discs.

This kit is specially designed for Harley-Davidson and for this inverted fork.

It will give your Sportster the braking it needs to appreciate this new front end.

• FJN radial caliper

It is a billet aluminum caliper, equipped with 4 forged and ventilated 32mm pistons and high-strength pads.

• REMM floating disc 320MM

Created by REMLAB , this disc is both beautiful and powerful. It combines a support and 6 fasteners in aluminum cut from the mass. The brake plate is made of steel S42020.

Does your Sporster front wheel have a single disc?

The disc reach is already present on the other side on the Sportster wheels as you see below on the Forty-Eight model.

In this case, you have to drill holes in the hub and tap them.

We offer a kit to drill and tap the second seat to install 2 discs on an original rim.

To complete the braking, we have developed a radial lever + clutch kit for Sportster with integrated switches.

The full version

If you do not wish to keep your original rim, change its size, color or width, we offer a second option: A front spoke rim .

The front rim for Sportster was developed by REMLAB .

It is composed of a hub designed and developed by REMLAB in billet aluminum and a rim also in billet aluminum.

It is available in 16, 17, 18 and 19 inches with a width of 1.5 to 3.5 inches.

Strapping colors available: black, red, silver, green, gold and blue.

By choosing the radial brake kit and the front wheel, you have a complete front axle, ready to install plug and play which will radically change your motorcycle.

We also developed a rear wheel to accompany the front wheel.
The rear wheel model in the video is a 17 inch by 5.00 rim.

This product is compatible with all Harley-Davidson Sportsters from 2008 to 2022.
